Sacramento Child Advocates, Inc. acts as the advocate, the voice, for childrenSCA's Board of Directors is wholly volunteer body.  The members of the Board set policy and keep the organization focused on its mission.

Betsy S. Kimball, Esq, Board Chairperson
Boyd & Kimball LLP, Partner
Ms. Kimball is an attorney with a civil litigation and appellate practice. She is a State Bar certified specialist in appellate law. Ms. Kimball's concern for children in the dependency system arises from the fact that, 12 years ago, she adopted a daughter through the dependency system. Ms. Kimball's daughter is now a thriving teenager, who is herself an active SCA volunteer and a frequent participant in SCA events.

Mike Ashen, Vice Chairperson

Mr. Ashen and his wife built their family of four children through adoption. Mr. Ashen is a past President and Past Active Life Member of the Active 20-30 Club Sacramento No. 1, whose motto is “A man never stands so tall as when he kneels to help a child.”
Mr. Ashen is a current Board member for the Loveall Foundation for Children and a past Board member of Fairytale Town. Mr. Ashen is in business with his three brothers, where they market and manage dental offices.

Eric Olsen, CPA, Treasurer
Ray Stone Incorporated, Vice President of Finance and Risk Management
Mr. Olsen is responsible for the integrity of the financial reporting for RSI’s portfolio of real estate assets and for RSI’s management information systems. Mr. Olsen has served on the boards of directors of a number of community organizations.

Robert Buccola, Esq, Board Member
Dreyer, Babich, Buccola & Callaham, Partner
Mr. Buccola is an attorney whose practice area includes personal injury and wrongful death cases. Mr. Buccola is certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. As a native of Sacramento and a father, Mr. Buccola has a particular concern about the educational opportunities available to children in the dependency system. He has endowed the Robert A. Buccola Educational Attorney position at SCA.

Kathryn Camacho, S.N.D. de N., Board Member
Sister Kathryn is the principal of Cristo Rey High School in Sacramento.  Cristo Rey serves primarily low-income students, including several clients of SCA, through a unique work-study program that allows students to pay most of their tuition by working five days each month at participating local businesses.  Upon graduation, a Cristo Rey student will have not only a solid college preparatory education, but also the range of skills learned through four years in the workplace. Sister Kathryn also serves on the Board of Trustees of Jesuit High School

David Couillard, M.D., Board Member
Sutter Medical Group, board-certified urologist.

Torie Flournoy, Board Member
Hagginwood Elementary School, Principal
As principal of a Title 1 school in the North Sacramento Unified School District, Ms. Flournoy is uniquely familiar with the educational issues faced by dependent children. Many of her school’s student are in the dependency system. Ms. Flournoy is currently working on her Ed.D. degree at California State University, Sacramento.

Larry Stiver, Board Member
Asset Strategies Group, Partner
Mr. Stiver is the Executive Benefits Manager of ASG, a business financial strategies firm. A resident of Elk Grove, Mr. Stiver has used his financial expertise to integrate Crown Financial Ministries into the Elk Grove community.
