Stress is a major factor in child abuse

Too much stress can push even the strongest person to the limit.  Some common sources of stress include
financial troubles, social isolation, marital problems, lack of parenting skills, illness, or abuse of alcohol and other drugs.

Where to get help and information:

Hotlines: these offer emergency help, referral to area services and more.  Look in the front of your phone book under “Community Service Numbers.”  Or, call the Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline at
